First held in 2015, our annual conference devoted to participatory ESOL pedagogy and practice is back this June! Across two afternoons (23 and 30 June, from 4:00 pm to 7:30 pm BST each day), we will be exploring the narratives and needs around health that often arise in the ESOL classroom, especially in light of the changes to our daily lives wrought by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Through a series of online participatory sessions, this year’s event will centre on three themed tracks, running in parallel. Participants can dive deep into:
- Exploring the social dimensions of health in the classroom
- Facilitating a thriving learning community
- Participatory ESOL in the formal sector
The last two years, we were able to cover the cost of the conference through grants, but as we were not able to do so this year, we are asking for voluntary contributions to support the preparation time our EFA teacher-organisers have been putting into preparing the conference sessions and logistics. However, we’re not going to close the door to anyone!
Find out more about each conference theme, how to reserve a ticket, and more at the page below. We look forward to seeing you there!
