Volunteers play a fundamental role in our classes
This page will be updated with opportunities should they become available. All of our volunteering is currently online. The following classes have vacancies for volunteers: Mondays 10-12:30 (in Southwark when face-to-face); Tuesdays 12:30-2:30 (in Greenwich when face-to-face). We normally match volunteers to classes that are in their local area, so please consider this when registering interest via email.
All of our classes are led by paid teachers. However, they are also often supported by volunteer teaching assistants. Whether helping specific individuals, supporting participants during group work or offering support and advice on local services, the contribution made by volunteers in our classrooms is vital.
In return, volunteers will have the opportunity to:
- gain experience of English language teaching in a community setting
- attend our regular training sessions on teaching methods
- gain support and advice on professional development for those looking to become an ESOL teacher
Our classes are held at various times and locations across London. Classes usually last two hours with a short break for refreshments about half-way through.
We’re also open to exploring other ideas for volunteering. If you would like to suggest something you want to be involved in, please get in touch!
