English for Action is recruiting for voluntary positions to join our Board of Trustees to help shape our work now and in the future. Being a trustee is a great responsibility but also a rewarding, varied and interesting role with potential for significant personal development. We aim for the role to be a real opportunity for the people who take it on. Our trustees tell us that they feel they can make a real difference through their involvement and applying their skills to support and develop our work. We provide an in depth welcome process, and support our trustees to develop by attending training where needed. Some of the below might seem a bit obscure if you have not been a trustee before, but please don’t let this put you off!
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive board, and strongly encourage applications from current or former ESOL students, community organisers, people who have learned English, women, migrants, and individuals from global majority backgrounds. We are especially interested in hearing from people who have experience in:
- Fundraising
- Law
- Human Resources
- Strategy
If you don’t have these skills or experiences but you believe that your background could be useful to us and you are interested in joining our board, please do still get in touch.
To apply, please read this role description and send us an email telling us about your skills and experience and why you are interested in the position, and include your CV. Please write no more than 1 page. You can film yourself and send a video or record yourself if that suits you better. Please keep your recording to less than 3 minutes.
We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. Please send your application to: hr@efalondon.org
We will be taking applications, and will then invite you for an informal interview to meet you if you sound like a good fit for EFA.
Please get in touch with Gina on 07769103944 or her email gina@efalondon.org if you have any questions about the role, we are very happy to have a chat about it.
Thank you!
